I realize I'm a day late for the ACTUAL National Bundt Cake Day, but honestly, is anyone really going to complain?? I'm giving you the most lusciously chocolate cake recipe of your life, so I can only see reasons to REJOICE... especially right before Thanksgiving!
If you need something other than pie for dessert for the biggest feast of the year, I'm right there with you! Truthfully, it'll be the first thing gone on your table and you'll laugh right along with me. haha. Chocolate really does reign supreme at any feast, I'm just sayin'!
Ultra Chocolate Bundt Cake
Cake Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup light brown sugar firmly packed
1 ½ cups granulated sugar
â…” cup natural cocoa powder
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
¾ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
¾ teaspoon salt
½ cup unsalted butter melted
1/2 cup canola oil
2 large eggs + 1 egg yolk lightly beaten
1 ¼ cup sour cream
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
¾ cup hot water (the hotter the better)
½ cup mini chocolate chips
Chocolate Glaze:
3 oz. unsweetened chocolate chopped into small pieces
4 Tablespoons unsalted butter
â…“ cup whole milk
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions:
Whisk dry ingredients together, including sugar and brown sugar.
Add wet ingredients and mix with hand mixer until combined.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Grease and flour bundt cake pan thoroughly.
Pour in batter and cook at 350' F for 50-55 minutes or until wooden skewer comes out clean.
Let cake cool while you whisk mix together glaze. Wait 15 minutes for the glaze to harden a bit before pouring over the cake.
